What Is Encaustic?

Encaustic painting is an ancient Greek technique that combines purified beeswax, damar resin, and pigment. The wax is heated, applied in layers, and fused with flame or heat to create luminous, sculptural surfaces.

It is tactile.
It is forgiving.
It is alive.

The process itself becomes meditative — a rhythm of melting, layering, carving, revealing.

Beginner Encaustic Experience

2-3 Hour Introductory Workshop

In this hands-on experience, you will:

• Learn encaustic safety and studio setup
• Understand tools, torches, and fusing techniques
• Create your own finished encaustic painting on wood panel
• Explore texture, mark-making, and intuitive layering
• Leave with a completed artwork ready to hang

No experience necessary. Just curiosity.

These workshops are intimate, typically 6–10 participants, allowing space for guidance and personal exploration.

Perfect for those who have never worked with wax before.
