A fully immersive five-hour workshop, including a lunch, you'll create your own archival encaustic piece(s) ready to display or frame. All professional materials are included and no prior experience is necessary.
This personalized workshop provides individual guidance that meets your skill level and creative preferences. We'll work together prior to the class to determine what's best for you.
Learn how to:
prepare encaustic medium
mix pigments and and medium to develop your palette
apply and fuse layers using a variety of techniques
build texture, depth, and surface complexity
practice essential safety practices
create mixed media and photo encaustic pieces (optional focus)
Lunch is included - please advise of any allergies or diet restrictions.
Most supplies provided including R&F encaustic medium, paint, gesso and oil pigment sticks. Also, included is birch wood panels and natural brushes. Feel free to bring more panels to paint on depending on your working style.
