I've been teaching encaustic all over the world since 2005. Every workshop is different because every person who walks in brings something different to the work.
The medium does the rest.
Beeswax has a way of surprising you, and watching that happen for someone for the first time is one of my favorite things to witness.
All group sessions are kept small on purpose so you get real instruction and real time with the work. All you have to do is show up.

INTRO TO ENCAUSTICS
Open to all levels, no prior experience in encaustic painting is necessary.
You'll explore creating translucent, layered paintings only achievable with molten beeswax on a wood panel. We'll cover a brief history of the medium, basic supplies and tools, safety, preparation of supports, and fusing. All supplies included.

Saturday - 11am - 3pm
ADVANCED ENCAUSTICS
This workshop brings together several methods to create beautiful, layered artworks that are part photograph, part painting.
We'll explore color mixing to give you more empowering knowledge while developing imagery with a focus on using photographs as collage. All supplies included.

PRIVATE WORKSHOP
A fully immersive five-hour private workshop where you'll create your own archival encaustic pieces ready to display or frame. This workshop also incudes lunch.
Most supplies are provided including R&F encaustic medium, paint, gesso, oil pigment sticks, birch wood panels, and natural brushes. No prior experience necessary.
